ADHD Basics Newsletter, Issue #010 -- ADHD Cure January 12, 2008 |
A couple newsletters ago, I mentioned the booklet, "The Bible Cure for ADD and Hyperactivity" by Don Colbert, MD. I didn't realize that my friend had this book so I was able to read it. It is an easy read and a quick one. Here are my comments on the book.
This is such an excellent booklet. It is a must read and every mother and father that has a child with ADHD needs this book in their library. So many parents struggle with their ADHD child. They don't know what to do. It is focused on children but an adult with ADHD would benefit very much from this book also. This booklet is a practical guide and plenty of how to's. At times people ask me, "What should I feed my child"? I have some general things of what to eat and what not to eat. He has examples of specific things to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. Dr Don Colbert has blown me away with his 2 books that I have read so far. If you want the best, practical book for ADHD and helping your child, this is it. If you want to know what vitamins and minerals and oils to add to your child's diet, its all here. It is an inexpensive booklet and is loaded with content. Dr Don is a Christian and uses a lot of prayer, Bible verses, and Christian lingo. If you are not a Christian, don't let that stop you from buying this book. It is full of information that you need to know. He mentions putting your child on a vitamin and mineral supplement. I have a children's and Adult's liquid vitamin and mineral supplement that provides the needed vitamins and minerals in the best way to the body. In his book, he said that liquid doesn't provide vitamins very well. With the common supplements on the market, this is true. The company that I use, has advanced technology that allows assimilation of the vitamins and minerals in a very short time. The minerals are very small, a hundred times smaller than the cell so that it can pass into the cell with ease. He mentioned a couple things that I will be looking more into. An inexpensive test that many insurance companies will pay for is a comprehensive food sensitivity test. I will look more into this and hopefully find some places across the country who perform this test. (Look for a future newsletter) He also said there is a new method of food allergy elimination . More to come on the food allergy testing and elimination.
