I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was 7 years old & I’m currently 29 years old. My life kind of blew up/fell apart in March 2015 when I had been on 20mg Adderall IR in the AM & 20mg Adderall IR in the PM.
I was severely beaten by my husband which led to his arrest for domestic assault & dui. I had to move home to my moms because I couldn’t afford to keep the house I shared with my husband. Shortly after, I was hit on my way back to work after lunch & my car was totaled.
Because of this, I was unable to get into the doctor and came off my meds. I finally made it back to the doctor on April 30, 2018 and my primary put me on 10mg Adderall IR in the morning. I explained to her in my appointment that I had previously been on 40mg which was perfect and she said that we’d evaluate dosage at a 2 week check up.
By day 2, I called her office because my meds were wearing off by early afternoon. I feel like I’m on a roller coaster. I’m forgetting the simplest things like where I put my wallet and I even forgot that I grounded my son the previous night and my older son had to remind me.
I’m perfectly fine in the morning but I find myself irritated, emotional & forgetful in the evenings once my meds have worn off. Is this normal? Is there any other way to get through to my doctor?
